From Tuesday 22nd November until Wednesday 21st December we made our own arrangements from day to day.
We used "Book a Seat in a Coach" or a New Zealand Travel Pass to tour the North Island.
To do this it was necesary too telephone a day or two in advance.
First we used the Travel Pass to travel to Picton fron Christchurch and took the ferry as foot passengers to Wellington.
Interestingly we discovered that the ferry now called the Interislander was previously used as a ferry between Dover and Calais.
On Wednesday, 21st December we left New Zealand from Auckland and flew to Norfolk Island for Christmas.
