• 1797-1799 His Majesty's Service. Battle of Camperdown 10th Oct. 1797
• 1799 Mate of the Brig. "Rover" and "Ceres"
• 1800 Master of the "Elizabeth" of Boston Christmas
• 1802 to 1805 Master of the "Samuel" of Boston
• 1805 Master and part owner of the "Britannia"
• 1805 Bought 1/6 of the "Britannia" for £131.5/- A. Berg, Commander
• 1806 Bought 1/6 of the "Joseph & Ann" for £136.5/- A. Berg, Commander
• 1815 Purchased the whole of the "Joseph & Ann" £875 A. Berg, Commander
• 1817 Built the ship "Saxony" A. Berg Owner & Comdr. for £2231.
• 1824 "Joseph & Ann" lost at Sea near the the Rv. Elbe 15 men persihed with her.
• 1824 Bought the Brig. "Ant" for £1600 A. Berg Commander
• 1824 Bought the Brig "Nile" for £1700 John Mills Commander
• 1829 Brig. "Ant" lost on the coast of Lincolnshire, J. Clayt Commander.
• 1830 Brig. "Nile" lost in Bay of Biscay near French Coast, John Mills, Master.
• 1831 Built the Brig. "Urania" for £2964, A. Berg, Senior, Commdr. also A. Berg, Junr. Captains in Succesion my two sons.
• 1833 Brig. "Saxony" lost off Weymouth. A. Berg, Jnr. Master
• 1834 Bought Ship "Jannet" for £2400 A. Berg, Jnr.Master
• 1838 Ship "Jannet" lost Scawreef A. Berg, Jnr.Master B.J.
• 1840 Sold "Urania" for £1975 to my son Frederic Berg and retired from business through ill health. A. Berg.

In the year 1839 retired from business through loss of health and property and with the advice of Dr. Mantall, left Clapham for Brighton Sussex under the treatment of Dr. Hall was restored to health.
