PAX
26 June 1924.
Dear Frank,
Tomorrow I am going into King's College Hospital for somewhat serious (bladder) operation. When I am fit visitors can see me any day (2 to 4 p.m.) - Let the others know.
Your affectionate Uncle,
F. Thos. Bergh. O.S.B.
My Uncle used to visit me at my office and on the last occasion in April seemed very well. He went to Rome in May (1924) but the journey was too much and he was in bed most of the time so I have been told.
I visited my Uncle at his private room in the Hospital up to a few days before his death. At first he seemed to have every chance of recovery but his age was no doubt the cause of death. He was visited by Cardinals Bourne and Vaughan and others. He was very impatient at the enforced inaction. His brain was clear when I saw him last. F.R.B.
